Sensape GmbH is receiving funding under the ‘Innovationsassistent:in’ (Innovation Assistant) program of the Free State of Saxony, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus). The project is titled ‘Digitisation for Greater Reach and New Financing Options: Innovative Solutions and Revenue Strategies for Stationary and Digital Systems for Interactive Customer Engagement and their Marketing’ and runs from September 2024 to February 2027.
Project Description
Since 2015, Sensape has been developing interactive digital displays and kiosk systems powered by Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality (AR). These systems have primarily served companies at high-footfall locations with corresponding marketing budgets. The funded project aims to remove these barriers: on one hand, stationary systems at high-traffic locations (e.g. museums, railway stations, zoos) should be able to generate revenue independently, without requiring customers to invest a marketing budget upfront. On the other hand, the WebAR platform – a browser-based AR solution requiring no app – is being developed into a modular product that is economically viable even for companies with lower visitor numbers or purely digital formats.
Project Goals
The project pursues three core objectives:
1. New revenue strategies for interactive systems: Developing innovative approaches that enable Sensape devices to generate direct income at locations – for example through the sale of personalised content or merchandise – making them self-financing.
2. Expansion of the WebAR platform: Further development of the browser-based AR solution into a modular platform accessible to a significantly broader range of customers, deployable without major hardware investment.
3. Digitisation of the sales process: Building a webshop and digitalising sales and onboarding processes to efficiently reach new customer segments with smaller budgets.
Expected Results
The project is expected to enable Sensape to serve a significantly broader range of companies – regardless of location size or marketing budget – with innovative AR solutions. Specifically, new production-ready software modules for stationary systems and a scalable WebAR platform are planned as outputs. Additionally, a functional webshop for direct sales of standardised products will be established. In the long term, this will strengthen the growth of Sensape GmbH at its Leipzig headquarters and consolidate its position as an innovative AI and AR provider in the European technology landscape.
